An ayurvedic detox program is like hitting the reset button for the body, mind and spirit. This program is designed to lighten the load on the body as well as the emotions and mind. It is intended to nourish, energize, calm and balance the whole person.

Ayurveda is the 5000 year-old science of life and sister science of yoga. The principles of this system help individuals to understand their main constitution and how to use simple daily practices to restore balance naturally.

In ayurveda, ama is the accumulated undigested or unprocessed material/energy in the body. Ayurveda cites ama as the root cause of disease. Seasonal detoxes are used to rid the body of ama. Spring is the ideal time to detox. It is traditional to begin a program several weeks before the season changes. This helps the body adjust with the changing conditions and assists in preventing seasonal illnesses.

Over the years we accumulate residue in the physical body (as well as the mental and emotional bodies). We also accumulate residue in our homes, work and relationships. This accumulation can block the flow of energy in our lives. As we spring clean our bodies, we will also spring clean our homes and work places, removing stagnant energy and revitalizing our inner and outer world.

In this 4 week ayurveda-inspired program we will implement ways to lighten the load through nutrition, movement, breath, meditation, home and self care practices. We will clear the space around us and within, to allow the flow of vital energy.
